You can be part of CCSM’s new “Energy Ministry”

CCSM is committed to “walking our talk” about many social justice issues, in particular dealing with climate change.  To that end, and in an effort to responsibly reduce our “carbon footprint,” we want to 1) assess our current energy consumption and 2) consider alternative, clean energy sources.

The Board of Directors is calling those of you for whom climate change is a key passion to form an Energy Ministry for 2020. This Ministry would be responsible for arranging to have an Energy Audit conducted, reporting Audit results to the Board and Congregation, researching environmentally friendly alternative energy sources, and creating a proposal (including cost analyses) to convert from or modify our current electricity and natural gas consumption methods.

Under our governance structure, it is our Ministries that drive the mission and vision of CCSM and bring our priorities to the forefront of action. Therefore, if you are interested in being an Energy Ministry Lead (or co-lead) or serving as an active member of such a Ministry, please email the Moderator, Dave Chandler (dave.chandler@me.com), with a cc to the Director of Operations, Marge Boyd (mboyd@ccsm-ucc.org) by October 15, 2019.
