I’m New

Welcome!  We’re glad you’re here. We invite you to visit this Sunday and learn more about how you can explore, connect, serve and grow with us!

When should I arrive?

Our Sunday worship is at 10:30 am.

So that you won’t feel rushed, we recommend that you arrive 10 minutes before the service. If you are coming with children, check in at our Kid’s Kiosk before finding your family a seat. We offer babysitting for infants and toddlers and programs for older children. Learn more about our Sunday programming for children.

How do I get there?

We are located immediately north of downtown San Mateo. See our map.

Our address is:
225 Tilton Avenue
San Mateo, CA 94401

Where do I park?

Parking is available in the lot on the southwest corner of Tilton Avenue and N. San Mateo Drive as well as on surrounding streets.

If you are physically challenged, we offer parking in a smaller lot behind our church. From N. San Mateo Drive, turn east on Catalpa Street, one block north of Tilton Avenue. Our parking lot is halfway down the block on the right.

Are you an accessible campus?

Yes! Our beautiful Sanctuary is fully accessible — with wheelchair and hearing-impaired accessibility aids – so that we can welcome everyone…wherever you are on life’s journey.

What should I wear?

Please come dressed however you feel most comfortable. We’re thrilled that you’re joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you’re wearing.

What can I expect?

Expect to find a warm and friendly, intergenerational community. Our CCSM family is comprised of a diverse group of people brought up in different faiths or with none at all who have a broad spectrum of beliefs, interests and histories. We’re a big tent.

And, we have a great time!

As you enter our Sanctuary, our friendly greeters will welcome you and our ushers will hand you a bulletin so that you can easily follow along. In the beginning of our service, our minister will ask if there are any visitors present so that we can give you a Welcome Packet that contains more information about us. Raise your hand only if you feel comfortable doing so.

After worship we invite you to join us for fellowship at our coffee hour. Just follow the crowd to Kloss Hall and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and some treats.

What will the message be like?

By weaving music, stories, poetry, laughter and silence together, we strive to create a worship service that is inspirational and touches the spirit.

In every service, you will hear a compelling and challenging message that nourishes your mind as much as your soul. We strive to make our message relevant to daily life, no matter where you are on life’s journey. Listen to recent sermons.

Can I participate in Communion?

No matter who you are…you’re welcome at CCSM. This includes our Communion table. The first Sunday of each month we celebrate Communion and our table is prepared for all.

Do I have to give a donation?

At each service, there is an offering that supports a wide-range of social issues, but as a guest, please do not feel any pressure to give. Learn more about the organizations that we support through our offering.

Are there any programs for children?

Yes! After the Children’s Moment in our service the children are chaperoned to highly interactive, age-appropriate programs that help to grow their moral and spiritual foundation and build their relationship with the CCSM community! Infants and toddlers can be dropped off prior to the service.
