Betsy Woodward, Commissioned Minister of Christian Education, is responsible for the programs for children, youth and families at the Congregational Church. Her love for children and dedication to her ministry is contagious. She knows every child's name and will probably be one of the first people to welcome you to the church. Her vision and ingenuity have created our vibrant and growing Christian Education program. This vision also extends to our active youth groups who build houses in Mexico, worship opportunities for children, and fun family events sprinkled throughout the year.
Betsy serves on Homework Central's Board of Directors and has been the guiding light behind our community parenting partnership, Building Bridges. Betsy is also active in the national UCC as a Partner in Education and on the National Association for United Church Educators. Her education began at Mills College where she received a Bachelor's Degree. She then completed extensive graduate work in Early Childhood Education and most recently finished classes at Pacific School of Religion to become the second Commissioned Minister in the Northern California Nevada Conference, UCC.
When Betsy is not at church, you might find her tutoring Homework Central kids, caring for her roses or absorbed in a good book.
